"No church keeps its believers as tightly wound as "modern science" keeps its congregation," Christian Morgenstern (1871 - 1914) noted more than 100 years ago.

Claims on »epistemological liabilities« must be as high as possible. It is not about the meaningless question of what (physical) truth is, because a thought model is just a thought model. However, it is very much about the honest question of the extent to which a current model, for example on the formation of matter, is minimalist and at the same time provides unambiguous solutions. This question can always be answered.

Ansprüche an »erkenntnistheoretische Verbindlichkeiten« müssen so hoch wie möglich sein. Es geht nicht um die sinnlose Frage, was (physikalische) Wahrheit ist, denn ein Denkmodell ist eben nur ein Denkmodell. Es geht aber sehr wohl um die ehrliche Frage, inwieweit ein gegenwärtige Modelle, beispielsweise zur Materiebildung, minimalistisch sind und zugleich eindeutige Lösungen liefern. Diese Frage ist stets beantwortbar.
